On June 17th and 18th Whitstable’s first ever Yoga Festival happened. Filled with various styles of yoga to try, vegan eats, holistic therapies, meditation and stalls selling wonderful
buys, the festival proved to be a success.

Organised by local yoga teacher, Monica Marini and other members of the ‘Bare Foot Collective’, this festival worked to bring a sense of community to Whitstable, with local yoga teachers, therapists and like minded folk coming together to make these wonderful holistic practices available and accessible to everyone.

The idea of community is close to my heart. When I created ‘iyogakent’ it was with community in mind, and it still is. I am always working to bring yoga and therapies to people from all walks of like, and I move to work with others to make this a reality. To me working together is where the magic happens. Something amazing unfolds that benefits so many. We are stronger together. We learn, expand and grow in new directions, which may never of been possible on our own.

I was at the festival on both days offering taster Reiki sessions. With the great festival vibes and a view of the sea, it was an awesome weekend. I was thrilled to bring Reiki to
this event and got such a welcoming response. There was a real interest and want for Reiki.

Being a yoga teacher, massage therapist and Reiki practitioner, I know how well Reiki works with yoga and massage. It unblocks the stuck, brings fresh energy in and allows you to come home to yourself. Reiki nourishes and cleanses on the real deep and subtle levels of our being.

Well done to the Bare Foot collective who made this happen. I look forward to working with you in the future. And to anyone that missed out this year, the festival will be back next year.
